Limited Edition Master Replicas Version 2 STAR WARS Return of the Jedi Luke Skywalker Lightsaber Prop Replica

So I’ve just posted a link to score a rare version 1 Master Replicas Luke Skywalker TOJ Force FX Lightsaber as well as some links to score the later model Hasbro produced version.

But while the Force FX models are arguably collectors pieces rather than toys you may be the type of collector who only wants a serious replica (okay, serious as in seriously like the original screen used prop). If that’s the case then you might take interest in knowing a limited edition Master Replicas version 2 replica of Luke’s lightsaber from Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi is currently up for sale.

The image above is of the one in question and as you can see it is limited number 126 of 1,500. Very cool!

The seller says it’s in basically as-new condition:

It has only been handled with gloves once to put it in its display case. It has been on display in a glass curio cabinet away from sunlight and in a temperature controlled and smoke free home.

This replica lightsaber won’t last long, that’s for sure. As I type this post already 4 offers have been received by the seller – yes, he is accepting offers or you can snap it up for $1,000 as a Buy it Now price. I expect he’ll get a lot more and/or someone will just buy it outright to avoid missing out.

Master Replicas Star Wars ROTJ Force FX Green Luke Skywalker LightsaberL

If you’re looking for a replica of Luke Skywalker’s green Force FX lightsaber from Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi then you’ve really got two choices: the model produced by Hasbro which I posted here or the rarer Master Replicas version.

In terms of a comparison each version has their fan, mostly for very slight reasons. Perhaps most notably Hasbro’s version is the cheaper of the two and hence arguably provides the best replica for your money, while Master Replicas’ version will cost you more but is a little higher in production quality.

Master Replicas also produced theirs first (and ceased production while Hasbro continue to produce theirs). If you can find one of the first release models by Master Replicas (referred to as version 1) you’ll find them to be quite pricey as they are now pretty much a rare collector’s item that is hard to find but highly sought after.

As I write this post there is one of the original Master Replicas version 1’s available brand new on Ebay.

Here are the features of the one that’s available:

  • First release of a Master Replicas ROTJ Green Luke Skywalker ROTJ Lightsaber
  • Rare collectors item
  • Stury glowing bright green polycarbonate blade (permanently attached to the hilt)
  • Authentic sound effects in-built (realistic power-up, power-down, idel, clash effects driven by motion sensors)
  • Durable metal hilt feels like a real lightsaber
  • Comes with display stand
  • No more are being made

Obviously these are rare so it’s great that, if you want one, you have your chance right now (while it lasts) to snap up the one that is available. The seller (who is based in the UK) is asking for approx US $1,012 but will consider offers.

If you want one of these be careful. I’ve noticed there’s a lot of what fans are calling “bait and switch” going on from less than reputable sellers. What they do is advertise the Force FX lightsaber, charge you a cheaper price than you’d otherwise pay, and then ship you a standard FX lightsaber or an Ultimate FX lightsaber. The upshot is you think you’re paying less for a Force FX but what you’re actually doing is paying more for a much, much inferior product.

Of course, sometimes sellers put the right price on the product to convince you it is the right product, only to still ship you the wrong product. In some cases they do this deliberately, and perhaps in others the sellers don’t really understand what the difference is between a Force FX, Ultimate FX, or FX model.

The following links lead to actual Force FX lightsabers. If you purchase in any other way from any other dealer I highly recommend taking every precaution you can to ensure you get what you’re after.

Custom STAR WARS: THE FORCE UNLEASHED Galen Marek/Starkiller Lightsaber Prop Replica

This is Master Replica’s limited edition STAR WARS Qui Gon Jinn Lightsaber Prop Replica.

Backstory:

While on assignment to protect Queen Amidala of the Naboo, Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) engaged the dark warrior, Darth Maul, in an epic duel only to fall in battle. Heartbroken, his padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, took up the weapon of his master and used it to defeat the evil Sith Lord.

Exactingly copied from surviving film props stored in the Lucasfilm archive, this awesome 1:1 scale Lightsaber replica reveals never before seen details and features:

  • Machined aluminum and brass parts
  • Anodized black details
  • Anodized red female knurled button Intricate pommel detailing
  • Museum quality display case with mirrored base and acrylic cover
  • Numbered plaque and certificate of authenticity

In Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, Qui-Gon’s lightsaber was machined by the prop department from aluminum. Resin parts were cast and a rare, red aircraft button was added as decoration. Working directly from surviving props in the Lucasfilm archives, Master Replicas’ engineers have crafted a copy of the hero version of the hilt from machined aluminum, featuring rich black anodized parts, never before seen details, and a red anodized button complete with the rare knurl of the original.

You can find a few of these for sale at varying prices at the following link:

Custom One of a Kind Combat Ready LED Lightsaber

Now this is really cool. If you’re a Star Wars fan and you want to stand out from the crowd, you’ll want to take a look at this lightsaber prop.

There are a ton of different Star Wars lightsaber prop replicas on the market from a variety of different manufacturers. But how many opportunities do you get to own your own completely unique lightsaber that is not a prop replica at all? How often can you rock up to a Star Wars convention and wield a lightsaber that absolutely nobody else is wielding? Not often, that’s for sure. But right now you can, and it’s pretty damn awesome.

This is an Advanced-Light Weaponry (ALM) custom LED lightsaber.

Features:

  • one of a kind
  • handle made from high carbon steel
  • handle painted in a textured black
  • activator plate and rear grip ring painted in deep blue
  • emitter/fore grip chromed steel painted in weathered gloss black
  • construction materials and paint are extremely durable
  • activator plate has a welded steel protective hood
  • steel blade socket is approximately 4″ deep for excellent blade seating
  • blade set screw is hand cut heavy gauge steel alloy capped with a knurled, chrome plated, brass knob (heavy set screw keeps the blade perfectly in place)
  • belt connector is a chromed steel D-ring
  • high-grade, thick-walled polycarbonate blade is 1″ in diameter (33″ out of the emitter)
  • blade tip is permanently locked into the blade (prevents tip coming off during dueling)
  • LED is a Luxeon Blue and deep seated for maximum protection
  • uses 3 AAA alkaline batteries
  • designed for FULL contact lightsaber dueling
  • hilt is 14″ long and is heavily weathered for realism
  • blade weight matches hilt weight for perfect balance

Custom One of a Kind Combat Ready LED Lightsaber

What’s great about this saber is that it is designed to look great but to function great too. I can see anyone who wields this in a duel destroying whatever saber the other dueler is holding (especially if it’s one of the standard Force FX lightsabers or other plastic sabers that are out there). There simply is no substitute for real steel and high-grade polycarbonate over light-weight aluminium or plastic.

Be the star at your next Star Wars convention – turn up dressed as your own Jedi Knight with your own unique lightsaber, and have no fear about your weapon breaking as you swing for the fences!

The only place to get this is Ebay at a price of $350 and, of course, there’s only one:

Custom One of a Kind Combat Ready Luxeon Blue LED Removable Blade Lightsaber (ALM)

This is Hasbro’s latest STAR WARS Force FX Lightsaber Prop Replica based on Anakin Skywalker’s (Hayden Christensen) blue lightsaber from the Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

It features durable die-cast metal parts and is built sturdy enough to give it an authentic feel.

The blade is blue, just like in the movie, achieved via a polycarbonate blade that is permanently attached to the hilt.

Also features realistic power-up and power-down glowing light effects.

Anakin’s Force FX Lightsaber also includes a digitally recorded and motion-sensor-controlled authentic sound effects such as power-up, power-down, idle, movement sounds, and clash sounds. That’s pretty cool, although batteries aren’t included, which isn’t cool. But it’s a small price to pay!

Hasbro advertise each lightsaber as being a fully functioning replica featuring all the lights, sounds, and heft of the actual weapon. I don’t know about “fully functioning”, since it’s not, well, an actual sword laser. That and if you want something to have a real lightsaber fight with I don’t recommend this. It will work for some light bashing, but that’s about it. Nonetheless, we’ll look past that because those don’t really exist. Just sayin.

In any case, this is an awesome lightsaber replica recommended for any avid Star Wars fan.

As a footnote, the hilt on this one is black. I notice in all the promo images for this there’s a box in which the hilt is silver. I believe that relates to the removable blade version. So yes, the box in the images promoting this product is misleading because this one has a permanently attached blade and the hilt is black.

You can get this at a great discount on Amazon right now (33% off!) at the link below:

The second cheapest of these I can find is via Entertainment Earth at the link below:

STAR WARS Anakin Skywalker Force FX Lightsaber Prop Replica (via Entertainment Earth, $104.99)

Some of these go over $200 from different sources, so those two links above are awesome deals.

Here’s a Master Replica’s produced Count Dooku Lightsaber prop replica.

This is a solid lightsaber (that won’t house electronics) that comes with a case, certificate of authenticity, and original box.

The seller says:

Displayed in a smoke, dust, pet free home for years. Upon purchase your saber will be insured and you will receive a tracking number.

This Star Wars collectible has a Buy It  Now price on Ebay of $300.

STAR WARS Count Dooku Lightsaber Prop Replica (on Ebay)

Yeah yeah, these don’t fit any of my movie weapon replica categories perfectly (in fact, I don’t really have a category set up for this kind of a weapon replica modification), but that’s ok, they’re still frakkin cool so I have to post about them. I mean, who in their right mind wouldn’t want a Lightsaber lamp?

There’s two Lightsaber lamps coming in April 2012 from Master Replicas: a Darth Vader Lightsaber lamp and an Anakin Skywalker Lightsaber lamp.

Both look awesome and at $64.99 they’re pretty affordable too.

Just how awesome would it be to light up your room with the ambient light of a lightsaber.

The lamp is designed to use up to a 100 watt bulb.

Measures 26 inches tall, overall. US 120 volts 60Hz only.

If you’re a STAR WARS fan then you already know about the scene in the 1983 film STAR WARS: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi where Luke Skywalker constructed a lightsaber in a cave on Tatooine. It was a scene that never made it to the screen after ending up on the cutting room floor.

Well, 27 years later, 1000 Limited Edition prop replica’s of that Lightsaber are getting released thanks to eFX Collectibles!  eFX manufactures and markets extremely high-quality, screen-accurate, limited edition prop replicas and collectibles from your favorite films, television, video games, and other entertainment media. Formed in 2007, eFX was quickly awarded by Lucas Licensing the rights to design, develop, manufacture, and distribute prop replicas and models encompassing the entire Star Wars universe.

This Luke Skywalker Reveal Lightsaber Replica measures 11″ long (when closed) and is constructed in aluminum, brass, and copper, with screen-accurate LED effects of red and green arrows.

The weapon reproduction also features a glowing green crystal and comes on a numbered metal plaque with a certificate of authenticity.

Display your awesome lightsaber either closed or open using the included eFX stand and base!

Here’s the awesome story behind this Lightsaber:

Like Big Foot, the mystery surrounding this “missing scene” was so intriguing that it had become lore to Star Wars fans the world over. A lot of research by fans has been done, and little tidbits of information were found that may indicate the existence of this elusive scene, but there was nothing definitive. Even the storyboard that describes this scene was discovered, but there was still no evidence of the scene actually being filmed. Many believe that the lightsaber used in this scene may have been the weapon that is referred to as the “MOM” lightsaber, which is the one that was on display at the Star Wars: The Magic of Myth exhibit at the National Air and Space Museum in 1997-1999, and then in the touring exhibit. This lightsaber had an accessible control box with a removable PCB cover. It also had a hole near the pommel, possibly for the wires. Fast forward 27+ years to August 14, 2010 and Star Wars: Celebration V in Orlando, Florida. The mystery of the elusive missing scene was finally solved, and to the thunderous applause of the crowd, it was shown and announced that it will be edited back into the long-awaited Blu-ray Discs of the Star Wars Saga!

It’ll set you back $499.99 and will be available in January 2012, though tit can be pre-ordered now.

Here’s the link you need to get one (and I’m betting these will sell out fast):
