PLANET OF THE APES Thades Sword Screen Used Prop Replica

This is the original stunt sword used by Tim Roth (as the ape Thade) in Tim Burton’s 2001 film Planet of the Apes.

It was designed by Academy Award winner Colleen Atwood and custom made for use on set.

Thade’s sword is made out of hard rubber over a metal frame.

The sellers says:

It comes with a signed certificate of authenticity from Studio-Props. We purchased this item directly from 20th Century Fox and have placed a copy of our receipt from Fox on the C.O.A. to prove it.

The sword is available for sale (for $2,250) and more images of it can be viewed on Ebay at the link below:

Screen Used INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM Thugee Sword

You won’t be cutting any rope bridges with this had black rubber prop sword from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom but you will be adding some cool factor to your movie prop collection.

This is an actual screen-used prop from the 1984 film starring Harrison Ford that was originally auctioned off by Profiles in History (the current owner was the winner of the original auction).

Now the owner has put it up for sale on Ebay so this is your chance to own a real prop from the film.

Features:

  • The Sword is in Excellent Screen Used Condition
  • Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity
  • Comes with a copy of the original invoice from the auction house Profiles In History
  • Made out of very hard Black Rubber with the blade painted Gold.
  • The blade has a stiff piece of wire or metal in it so blade will not bend.
  • The sword measures 25 inches (63.5 cm) long and about 4 inches (10.16 cm) blade width and about .5 inches (1.27 cm) thick in general.

The price is $899.99 but the seller will entertain offers, so have at it via the link below.

Screen Used DEEP SPACE NINE & STAR TREK NEXT GENERATION Phaser Rifle

Here’s an actual, screen used prop that any Star Trek fan will salivate over.

This weapon was used on set in Star Trek: The Next Generation during the Borg episode ‘Descent Part 1’. It was also used in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

The current owner, who is selling it, says:

I bought it from Next Gen’s Property Master on one of my set visits. It was the day they filmed inside the Borg “hall” for the 6th season’s cliffhangar “Decent part 1”. I saw this being used right in front of me, and when I went to lunch with the P.M. we worked out the deal and when I left that day, I left with the prop.

Features:

  • Made of hard rubber
  • Has a green tinted plastic screen for the flip up sight (sight appears to be glued in place and does not flip up).
  • Has 2 holes drilled in top (used to attach a sling which does not come with the prop)
  • Has a working “trigger” button
  • Comes with a Letter of Authenticity (LOA) detailing the history of the prop (including its appearance on DS9)

In terms of condition this one is good except for numerous paint cracks and chips. The paint is enamel and has cracked and chipped over time. Still, you could also restore it fully to look like its former on-set glory!

The seller has put it up for sale as he needs the cash, so this is one of those lucky breaks for a Star Trek collector or movie prop collector.

Price is $2,800 but the seller will entertain an offer – so if you want it, head to the link below to make one.

WATERWORLD Smoker Rifle Prop Replica

In 1995 director Kevin Reynolds gave the world the sci-fi blockbuster Waterworld.

Well, it was meant to be a blockbuster but sadly for Reynolds and star Kevin Costner it only pulled in $264 million worldwide from a massive $175 million budget (which really was massive for its day). Despite earning (gross) more than its budget it was still a giant financial failure. One of the biggest in its day.

That said, some people still loved the film and so I’m sure there’ll be a die-hard Waterworld fan or movie prop collector out there who will jump at the chance to own one of the actual set used weapons.

Right now on Ebay a seller is giving you the chance to do just that by selling an original screen used Smoker Rifle, a weapon used by ‘Smokers’ who in the film are the bad-ass sea pirates.

The image above is the actual prop for sale.

I don’t know a great deal about the Smoker Rifle. I can’t find any images of it on the net. I don’t have it in me to watch the film again to try and find a scene that I can screenshot. I also can’t find a record of this weapon on the IMFDB’s Waterworld page. So for all intents and purposes I know nothing about this.

But here’s a summary of what the seller has to say:

  • The gun is made out of hard rubber with heavy wire inside.
  • Measures 33 inches in length x 6 inches from base to top x 2 inches thick.
  • Is in very good “Screen Used” condition.
  • Originally obtained from the famous Ellis FX Company. Still has it’s sticker on it from auction that Ellis FX company had.
  • Comes complete with Lettter of Authenticity from the famous Ellis FX Company.

The seller wants $499.99 for this prop but is willing to entertain offers. I say make one. While I haven’t verified authenticity myself, the seller is Reel Art and they are reputable vendors.
