Warehouse 13 Tesla Prop Steampunk Raygun

On one hand I hate Warehouse 13 as I think its popularity was probably the reason Eureka got cancelled. On the other hand I love it for all the nods it hands out to the late but great Nikola Tesla.

One of those nods is the aptly named Tesla gun – an electrically based steampunk style raygun used by Warehouse 13 agents (because bullets are so yesterday). That and it has the bonus side effect of erasing your short-term memory.

If you want a Tesla gun you can always opt for the kit version. But if you want it already fully assembled and, for that matter, if you want the best replica of this gun there is, then there’s no question that the limited edition Tesla Artisan Hero Prop is your huckleberry.

It’s a limited edition of only 500 pieces worldwide and it’s pure awesome.

Features:

 • Hand-built from more than 70 parts
 • Screen-accurate to the original TV prop (most parts digitally modeled from the original prop by Kenney’s Custom Props whose credits include weapon props for shows like Battlestar Galactica and Fringe)
 • Precise modeling based on laser scans and computer-aided design
 • Custom handmade acrylic cylinders for the vacuum tubes
 • A baked-on black chrome finish that creates a mirror effect on the end caps of the vacuum tubes
 • Custom-coiled springs and hand-coiled copper tubing
 • Custom-cast Bakelite knob
 • Comes with a hand-rubbed zebrawood base and graceful brass pedestal
 • Carefully wrapped in canvas and packed in a handmade wooden crate

If you want it you’ll have to hurry. These are not easy to find and will set your bank account back a little when you do find one, but right now if you want one you’re in luck via the link below (while it lasts):

WATERWORLD Smoker Rifle Prop Replica

In 1995 director Kevin Reynolds gave the world the sci-fi blockbuster Waterworld.

Well, it was meant to be a blockbuster but sadly for Reynolds and star Kevin Costner it only pulled in $264 million worldwide from a massive $175 million budget (which really was massive for its day). Despite earning (gross) more than its budget it was still a giant financial failure. One of the biggest in its day.

That said, some people still loved the film and so I’m sure there’ll be a die-hard Waterworld fan or movie prop collector out there who will jump at the chance to own one of the actual set used weapons.

Right now on Ebay a seller is giving you the chance to do just that by selling an original screen used Smoker Rifle, a weapon used by ‘Smokers’ who in the film are the bad-ass sea pirates.

The image above is the actual prop for sale.

I don’t know a great deal about the Smoker Rifle. I can’t find any images of it on the net. I don’t have it in me to watch the film again to try and find a scene that I can screenshot. I also can’t find a record of this weapon on the IMFDB’s Waterworld page. So for all intents and purposes I know nothing about this.

But here’s a summary of what the seller has to say:

 • The gun is made out of hard rubber with heavy wire inside.
 • Measures 33 inches in length x 6 inches from base to top x 2 inches thick.
 • Is in very good “Screen Used” condition.
 • Originally obtained from the famous Ellis FX Company. Still has it’s sticker on it from auction that Ellis FX company had.
 • Comes complete with Lettter of Authenticity from the famous Ellis FX Company.

The seller wants $499.99 for this prop but is willing to entertain offers. I say make one. While I haven’t verified authenticity myself, the seller is Reel Art and they are reputable vendors.

Limited Edition Master Replicas Version 2 STAR WARS Return of the Jedi Luke Skywalker Lightsaber Prop Replica

So I’ve just posted a link to score a rare version 1 Master Replicas Luke Skywalker TOJ Force FX Lightsaber as well as some links to score the later model Hasbro produced version.

But while the Force FX models are arguably collectors pieces rather than toys you may be the type of collector who only wants a serious replica (okay, serious as in seriously like the original screen used prop). If that’s the case then you might take interest in knowing a limited edition Master Replicas version 2 replica of Luke’s lightsaber from Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi is currently up for sale.

The image above is of the one in question and as you can see it is limited number 126 of 1,500. Very cool!

The seller says it’s in basically as-new condition:

It has only been handled with gloves once to put it in its display case. It has been on display in a glass curio cabinet away from sunlight and in a temperature controlled and smoke free home.

This replica lightsaber won’t last long, that’s for sure. As I type this post already 4 offers have been received by the seller – yes, he is accepting offers or you can snap it up for $1,000 as a Buy it Now price. I expect he’ll get a lot more and/or someone will just buy it outright to avoid missing out.

THE WOLF MAN Larry Talbot Silver Wolfs Head Cane

Factory Entertainment’s THE WOLF MAN Larry Talbot’s Wolf’s Head Cane

Larry Talbot’s silver wolf’s head cane featured in both the 1941 werewolf horror film The Wolf Man and the 2010 remake The Wolfman (although in the latter the main character is named Lawrence and not Larry).

In the 1941 film the cane was a prominent feature of the film and was the very weapon used to kill the werewolves in the film. In the 2010 remake the cane is featured more as a homage to the original.

The original wolf’s head prop was created by special effects technician Ellis Berman. He made the wolf’s head out of cast rubber and painted it silver. Bob Burns, known for owning one of the largest collections of movie props in the world, started his collection with the original wolf’s head prop. You can read the full story of how Bob Burns came to take possession of the prop at Hollywood Lost and Found.

There are only a handful of prop replica’s of the original silver wolf’s head cane that are available to collectors and that have been based off of the original prop now owned by Bob Burns. Few, however, feature an actual silver wolf’s head. Most are designed to convey a silver appearance but use chrome plating to achieve the desired result.

Factory Entertainment are about to release a new prop replica that will also be adorned with a chrome-plated replica of the original wolf’s head (pictured at the start of this article). It’s a limited edition item of 400 pieces released under the Universal Monsters banner. The cane itself is made of solid wood and measures 38-inches long. It was made under the guidance Bob Burns himself. This version is due to arrive in December 2013. If you want to order one of those it’ll cost you $398.99. You can pre-order now via the link below:

In the 1990’s Wolfs Head Productions (Delbert Winans and Henry Alvarez) released three different limited edition versions that are now extremely rare. Here’s the original advert (via Universal Monster Army):

Wolfs Head Productions The Wolf Man Cane Prop replica

Wolf’s Head Productions THE WOLF MAN Larry Talbot’s Cane Prop Replica

The Wolf’s Head Productions versions were museum-quality level and came available in three different formats: bronze, silver-plated and sterling silver. So it is with great interest that one of these is available via a seller on Ebay right now for auction at a starting bid of $500. An image of the replica and a link to check it out are below:

Wolfs-Head-Productions-The-Wolf-Man-Cane-Prop-replica

Wolf’s Head Productions THE WOLF MAN Larry Talbot’s Cane Prop Replica

Wolf’s Head Productions THE WOLF MAN Larry Talbot’s Cane Prop Replica (Ebay auction)

Interestingly, I notice the above replica is advertised as having a resin wolf’s head that is chrome-plated. The seller may be correct about that but I’m not entirely certain. I would have thought this was a bronze cast that has been plated. I could be wrong of course, so if you want to know for sure, I recommend a quick check with the seller before placing a bid.

If, however, you really want a silver plated replica of the cane then you can take a look at the Unique Canes silver plated replica. Their replica is advertised as “Quadruple Silver Plated using .999 Pure Silver” and is plated over heavy polished brass. It comes assembled on a Black Lacquer Solid Hardwood Shaft with both a chrome tip for display and steel reinforced rubber tip for actual use. Measures approximately 36″ length with a full size handle of 6.5″ x 1.5″ x 3.5″.

Take a look at the Unique Canes version:

Unique Canes THE WOLF MAN Silver Wolfs Head Cane Prop Replica

Unique Canes THE WOLF MAN Silver Wolfs Head Cane Prop Replica

Note that the Unique Canes version is not an exact replica based off the original Ellis Berman sculpt. It is hand-crafted and so variations are apparent. It is, however, high quality and also practical, so that’s pretty damn cool. It’s also cheaper than the Factory Entertainment or Wolf’s Head Productions versions coming in with a Buy It Now of $349, so there’s that too. If you want one of these, the link you need for that is below:

Unique Canes THE WOLF MAN Silver Wolf’s Head Cane Prop Replica (via Ebay)

Incidentally, the above cane from Unique Cane’s is a new version and not the same as their original releases a few years ago, which you can see showcased in this video:

There are also other cheap knock-off’s but let’s not talk about those.

Want to see the cane in the film? Grab the DVD at the link in the first line of this article or check out the original trailer. You an see the cane held at the 1:05 mark. Yes, it’s blurry, but its still very nostalgic.

Star Wars Return of the Jedi Biker Scout Blaster Prop Replica

Check out this brilliant looking life-size prop replica of the Biker Scout’s blaster as featured in Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.

This is a 1:1 scale high quality filled resin replica of the original Biker Scout blaster made for the film by Industrial Light & Magic (ILM).

Many weapons in Star Wars were made from existing guns that ILM modified into sci-fi blasters. This one was an exception where ILM created the weapon as a custom single piece with a British made “Singlepoint Scope” mounted on the right side using half of a Webley scope ring.

The artisans at Modelers or Mice have gone out of their way to replicate the original weapon just as ILM envisioned it, although in this case the entire gun is sculpted (no external attachments). That makes this weapon replica a screen accurate weapon to ILM’s vision rathre than a replica of the original on set prop which, in my view, is perfect.

STAR WARS Biker Scout Blaster

This is definitely the kind of replica Star Wars fans should jump on, not only because it’s very accurate to the screen used weapon but also because the Biker Scout’s blaster is not typically an easy replica weapon to find.

$97 is the price being asked as a Buy it Now direct from the artisans own Ebay store:

MEN-IN-BLACK-II-Noisy-Cricket-Prop-Replica-Unobtanium

If you’re looking for a rare and elusive replica movie weapon this one is it.

It’s the Unobtainium manufactured limited edition Noisy Cricket from Men in Black II.

Unobtainium was a company started by industry insider professionals whose main aim was to bring only the highest quality movie prop replicas to the public. They obtained official licenses to release replicas from Men in Black II, Star Trek, Spiderman and more, yet despite their undeniable high quality work they ended up closing their doors and shutting down their operation.

Before they did go under they began work on producing a limited edition run of the Noisy Cricket gun, Agent J’s personal sidearm from MIB II. It was released in 2002.

The Noisy Cricket replia was to be a limited edition run of 2,500 pieces. Information is scant on how many pieces they actually produced. Some say only 250, others say in the area of 800. Consensus seems to be the truth is more in the 1,200-1,500 area. Either way, the result is the Unobtainium Noisy Cricket is now one of those high quality movie prop replicas that is considered rare and highly sought after by collectors and MIB fans alike.

Features of the Noisy Cricket:

 • life-size (modeled to the correct size of the weapon that appears in MIB II)
 • body is aluminium
 • grip is rubber
 • includes a working trigger that illuminates the cylinder and has a spring loaded hammer.
 • included a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) from Amblin Entertainment and Columbia Pictures
 • shipped with a clear lucite display stand and black mirror-finish display base
 • numbered plaque
 • came in an original Unobtainium box decal
 • requires two CR1220 coin cell batteries
 • less than 1,500 believed to be in existence

MEN-IN-BLACK-II-Noisy-Cricket-Prop-Replica-Unobtanium

This is Unobtainium’s original sales blurb:

Working closely with the studio, our engineers were given access to the actual props used in the production of MIB II. Having a direct, hands-on study of that which was used on film has insured that each and every replica offered by Unobtainium Ltd. is a beautiful recreation of its screen-used counterpart.

Manufactured of high grade, computer-machined aluminium, each piece ships with a custom presentation box and Certificate of Authenticity.

The otherworldly green glow of the Cricket’s power core is activated with a simple pull of the trigger. Limited to a production of only 2,500 pieces world-wide.
